PESHAWAR – The coronavirus has been diagnosed in 12 doctors, some paramedics, and other medical staff at various hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
All the people and staff who came in contact with these doctors and paramedics have been into isolation and quarantine centers.
Peshawar is the worst-hit city in the province with seven doctors, including a private hospital doctor and nurse, having been infected. With a rising number of patients in the province, the number of infected medical professionals is also increasing.
Some doctors and members of medical staff have contracted the virus while treating patients in Peshawar’s three main hospitals. Three doctors of Hayatabad Medical Complex have caught the coronavirus which has prompted the people to ask who will treat the patients if doctors themselves get infected.
According to Young doctors, so far 12 doctors, eight nurses, and 1 paramedical staff member have tested positive for the virus. KP Health Minister Taimur Jhagra appeared to be uninformed about the number of doctors infected with the virus and said that anyone fighting against coronavirus on the frontline is at a huge risk.
