Former West Indies skipper and member of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Peshawar Zalmi franchise Daren Sammy was honoured for his contribution to restoration of international cricket in Pakistan.
Taking to Twitter and Instagram, Sammy shared his pictures of receiving the Sitara-i-Pakistan award at his hometown Saint Lucia.

“Cricket took me all over the world enabling me to see and play in some amazing places. Pakistan is definitely one of these places. A place that always makes me feel at home. It’s such an honor to have received this prestigious award( Sitara-I-Pakistan) from the Government and people of Pakistan,” he wrote on Instagram.
He was congratulated by Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi on Twitter: “Congratulations brother @darensammy88! Well-deserved Sitara-e-Pakistan!”
“Your contribution for Pakistan cricket revival will be [written] in golden words [and] in our hearts forever,” he added.
