LAHORE – Hyundai Nishat Motors Private Limited (HNMPL) has resumed conditional bookings for its cars, it emerged on Wednesday.
According to reports, customers will have to sign an agreement that they will pay new price of the car if there is hike in prices before the delivery of the vehicle.
The company has instructed its dealers to share the original agreement along with a copy of the Provisional Booking Order (PBO) with it. In case of failure, order will be not entertained.
On May 25, Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (LMCL) and Toyota Indus Motor Companystopped booking of various vehicles due to recent import restrictions and devaluation of Pakistani rupee.
Earlier this month, the federal government imposed a ban on various items including Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle in a bid to tackle rising import bills. The move is coincided with the free-fall of the local currency as US dollar has crossed Rs200-mark for the first time in the country’s history.
The booking of Kia Sportage, Picanto, and Carnival has been halted by the company without announcing the resumption date.
This is the second time that both automakers have suspended bookings of their vehicles within two months.
