LAHORE – Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (LMCL) and Toyota Indus Motor Company has stopped booking of various vehicles due to recent import restrictions and devaluation of Pakistani rupee.
Earlier this month, the federal government imposed a ban on various items including Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle in a bid to tackle rising import bills. The move is coincided with the free-fall of the local currency as US dollar has crossed Rs200-mark for the first time in the country’s history.
The booking of Kia Sportage, Picanto, and Carnival has been halted by the company without announcing the resumption date.
This is the second time that both automakers have suspended bookings of their vehicles within two months.
